Requesting New Entitlements

New entitlements are requested using the Software Request Portal (Generation 2).  Only optional entitlements may be requested.  (Included entitlements are automatically included and do not have to be requested.)

Entitlements are considered by the MIE to be anything over and above the actual license.  For instance, Microsoft Software Assurance would be considered an enterprise or optional entitlement, as would a standard software maintenance contract.

Requested entitlements will follow the approval flag of the title to which they correspond.  If the MSL title is marked as requiring approval, the entitlement will require approval as well.  The SRP will not allow an entitlement to be requested by itself - the corresponding MSL title must also be requested.

If you wish to add an optional entitlement to an MSL title for which you already have an authorization, request the MSL title again (you will not be charged for something for which you already have an authorization), and add the optional entitlement to the request.  Note that you must perform the subsequent request for an additional entitlement before the maximum request period expires.
