Comment Mode

The workflow engine supports routing a record temporarily created by a Data Entry Form for comments.  The record may be routed to an individual, to a group, or to the voting members of a CAB.

When the temporary record is routed for comment, it is generally routed via email with a link the Data Entry Form handler (dataentry.asp).  When the user clicks on the link, the form is displayed with the data and available for embellishment.  If the workflow process point definition does not have auto-authenticate checked, then the user will first be prompted to login.  Upon successful login (using the MIE account credentials), the form will be displayed, populated with data from the temporary record, for edit.

Each time a Data Entry Form is edited by an individual to whom the form was sent for comment, and the individual saves any edits, the History log is updated in the workflow thread, as is the worklog.  The MIE will stay at the process point that routed the form for comment until sufficient comments are received through successful edit and save events.  If the form was routed to an individual, then the MIE will wait until one comment is received.  If the form is routed to a group, then the MIE will wait until the minimum number of comments are received, as defined by the Minimum % of approvals required to approve setting in the associated process point.  If the form is routed to the voting members of a CAB, then the MIE will wait until the minimum number of comments are received, as defined by the Percentage of voting participants for quorum setting for the associated CAB.

Once the appropriate number of comments are received, the MIE will move to the next process point, as defined by the Work item gets forwarded to this process point if approved setting in the associated process point.

While in Comment mode, the record is still in a temporary state and will only be visible using the Data Entry Form.  It will not be visible via the standard MIE screens.
