The MIE maintains an audit trail for licenses it automatically migrates.  A pointer to the owned entitlement that caused the migration is written to the license table.  In addition, the original version (before migration) is also maintained in the license table (in case the migration must be reversed due to owned entitlement returns).

NOTE:  Only the most recent migration is maintained for audit purposes.  For example, if a license is migrated to version 9, and then later to version 10, the audit trail will only show the migration to version 10.
