Using Percentages

If you check the box that says that market and charge prices are expressed as percentages, then the MIE uses the number entered in the entitlement definition record as a percentage multiplier to the normal license price that will be charged for the associated license.

Example:  Say that Microsoft SA is 33% of the license price.  You would check the box that market and charge prices are expressed as percentages and then enter 33 as the market and/or charge price of the entitlement.  However, if you want to allow pro-rated pricing - meaning that the MIE will calculate the remaining term of the SA and only charge for the number of months remaining (depending on how you have the settings), then you want to adjust the percentage accordingly.  If the normal term of SA is 36 months, and you set the entitlement charging to charge per Month(s), then you need to establish the monthly price.  The monthly price, therefore, would be the total license price x the percentage for SA divided by the # of months.

The percentage you want to enter, therefore, is 33% / 36 = .9167% - that, multiplied by the total license price, will yield the monthly price for SA.

For a title that costs $450 the calculation would be as follows:  450 x .9167% = $4.13 per month for SA.

If there are 25 months remaining in the term, the MIE will calculate $4.13 x 25 as the total price for SA = $103.25.
