Triggers

There are several triggers that will cause an attempted license allocation:

1. A rogue discovery will first be authorized, then an attempt at allocating a license will be made.

2. Any software authorized through the software request portal will attempt an allocation at the time the authorization is performed.

3. Any license entering from the ASN processor will first cause an attempt at allocation before it is added to the unallocated pool.

4. Transferring MSL applications will cause an attempt at license allocation as the various applications are transferred.

5.Any software automatically authorized will also attempt to allocate a license at authorization time.

Rogue discovery and allocation in general are dependent on several system settings.  If those settings are changed after one of the trigger events occurs, it may result in unallocated licenses and/or improperly allocated licenses.  Such changes are detected by the Allocation Optimizer and handled by subsequent consolidations.
