Software Request Portal

Upgrades will be presented to users of the Software Request Portal if the following criteria are met:

1.The MSL title linked to the upgrade is authorized by workstation.

2.The asset number for which software is being requested has a current authorization for one of the qualifying titles.

3.There are at least SLMUpgradeMinQualifyingLicense (which is a system setting) existing qualifying licenses available that have not been marked to be used to satisfy a previous upgrade request.

Upgrades are shown in the drop-down list of available titles and are denoted by the phrase **(Upgrade) after the name of the title.

NOTE:  The Software Request Portal (SRP) does not check upgrade constraints (if any have been defined).  There is essentially nothing to check at the time of portal request since the upgrade licenses are typically purchased after the request and approval.  Therefore, it is up to the purchaser of the upgrade licenses to ensure the proper constraints are met so that the purchased upgrades will properly clear the MIE's logic and be used.
