The Usage Monitor pulls down recognition from the MIE for titles it has been told to watch.  As it monitors, it performs recognition using the aliases it pulled down from the MIE.  Those titles that it recognizes will be matched to their Managed Software List identifiers (mslNo) and that information will be reported back to the MIE when the Usage Monitor sends its collected information.

NOTE:  The Usage Monitor will report its own aliases to the MIE as it will use both add/remove programs, embedded file headers, as well as application window titles in its attempt to recognize the actual version of the titles it is monitoring.  When performing recognition training, therefore, it is important to include aliases that have been reported by the Usage Monitor in training.
