Linking VAT questions

The MIE features a similar questionnaire capability called the Value Analysis Tool (VAT).  A VAT questionnaire is designed to feed a business-case model that calculates a given business case.  In some cases, it may be appropriate to gather answers to VAT questions at the same time a more general assessment/discovery is being performed.  In order to not have to maintain VAT questions in two different places, VAT questions may be linked to Interview questions.  In that way, any changes to the wording of the VAT question will be inherited by the linked Interview question.

To link a VAT question to an interview question, perform the following steps:

1.Enter the VAT Question ID in the Interview question's Question Number field.  That is required to make the link.  The spelling must be identical, however case does not matter.

2.In the Interview question's Question field, enter a tag that will cause the MIE to look up the VAT question.  The tag should be entered as follows: {%<Question Number>,Q%}, where <Question Number> is the actual Question Number entered during step 1.  Example: {%Q01-Employees,Q%} (Note, make sure you place the tag inside any HTML formatting you are using)

3.In the Interview question's Reason for Asking field, enter a tag that will cause the MIE to look up the VAT supporting text.  The tag should be entered as follows: {%<Question Number>,S%}, where <Question Number> is the actual Question Number entered during step 1.  Example: {%Q01-Employees,S%} (Note, make sure you place the tag inside any HTML formatting you are using)
