Duplicate Groups

Once a column for checking has been selected, all matching duplicate groups (if any) will be displayed.  Each entry will show the matching value from the checking column along with the count of actual records participating in the group.

Any values in the checking column that match the blank phrases defined for Consolidate are ignored and will not be displayed as duplicates.  For instance, if two or more records contain the value "N/A" in the checking column, and if N/A has been included in the blank phrases setting, those records will be ignored and not included in duplicates testing.

If any filter has been set for the form before switching to resolving duplicates mode, the filter will remain in force when duplicates are being checked.  For instance, if you set a filter on the main form to select only records where "Dell" is the manufacturer, then when you switch to checking for duplicates, only the records matching the filter (manufacturer equals Dell in the example) will be checked for duplicates.

NOTE - If a filter is set, thereby confining the search for duplicates within the current record scope, some duplicates may be missed as they exist in records that are outside the currently defined filter.  If you want to see all possible duplicates, remove any filters before switching to resolving duplicates.

Clicking on any entry in the duplicate groups box will cause all the records that participate in the group to be displayed.
