Column for Checking

Duplicates are tested based on looking for matching values on one or more columns that theoretically should contain unique values.  For instance, duplicate asset records are typically detected by looking for matching values in the serial number column (when the unique ID being used is a separate asset number).  Duplicates can be tested whenever there are two or more columns in a given form which theoretically should contain a value which is unique from all other records.

The columns for testing are pre-defined for forms that support checking/resolving duplicates.  If only one column has been defined, it will be automatically selected for you.  Otherwise, you may choose the column you plan to use for checking.

Once the column has been selected, the detected groups of duplicates (if any) will be displayed.
