Wiki Community

The MIE offers a "wiki" approach to recognition training, if you choose to opt in.  You may opt in on a title-by-title basis. You may select full mirroring, which is the default, or you may chose local-only training by setting MSLWikiLocalRecogOnly to -1.

As the name suggests, full mirroring recognition training for titles within the Wiki community are a joint effort between all involved.  All members of the community see the same thing - the same available aliases as well as what has been trained for the current title.  All members have the same access to update, add to, or correct the currently assigned aliases for training.  All members opted in share, and benefit from, the same recognition.

When assigning aliases to a title, you may choose to view your current local MSL or the master (Wiki) MSL.  Switching your view simply switches the source of aliases and training.

However, in full training mode, regardless of which view you are working within, most of your training efforts are mirrored.  If you make an assignment to your local MSL, that same assignment is made to the master title as well.  If you remove an assignment from your local MSL, that same assignment is removed from the master.  The only time your efforts are not mirrored is when you make an assignment to the master and the alias you assigned is not available within your local MSL to be assigned locally.

In local training mode, enabled by setting MSLWikiLoclRecogOnly to -1, aliases trained at the local level are not mirrored to the master. If an alias has been trained at both the local and the Wiki level, the MIE will use the local alias training to recognize the title. In other words, the local alias training overrides the master alias training when in local training mode.

Because most of your efforts are mirrored, if you ever chose to opt out of the Wiki community on a given title, your local recognition will be ready to use.
