The ESI SFT Monitor Service monitors the ESI Secure File Transfer client application. If the SFT client application is not running, the SFT Monitor Service starts a new SFT client application within one minute.

The SFT Monitor service is installed as a Windows service, and must be installed under the same user account as the one used to install the SFT application. The SFT Monitor installation program automatically installs the SFT Monitor as a Windows service; however, during installation the user must provide the password to the user account that was used to install the SFT client application. The SFT Monitor installation also takes care of starting the SFT Monitor service. After installation, it is not necessary to perform any additional tasks. The service will start automatically when your system is started.

Note (client application not visible in the tray): If the SFT Monitor Service re-loads the SFT client application, it will no longer by visible in the tray.  In order to re-establish the tray icon, the ESISecureFileTransfer.exe process must be terminated using the Task Manager, and the application re-started manually by clicking on the SFT client application icon.  Be sure to re-start the client application within one minute of terminating it.  Otherwise, the SFT Monitor will start it again and the application will not be visible in the tray.
