The SFT client is a tray application and therefore is specific to a given user.  Although it will install and work fine on Wintel servers, it installs under the context of the user who was logged in at the time it was installed.  Since servers often have many administrators who login to perform maintenance, the next time a different user logins in, the SFT client is stopped when the different user's desktop settings load.  Therefore, without some way to ensure the SFT client stays loaded and running on the server, its operation becomes unreliable.

To run the SFT client on a server, use the ESI SFT Monitor Service.  The SFT Monitor Service can be downloaded and installed from the screen used to install the SFT client.
