Secure File Transfer

Import jobs sometimes require source files that are too large to email.  In addition, many imports are recurring, and are best set up to run unattended on a given schedule.  In either case, the MIE supports an automated secure file transfer capability.

Files to be transferred are managed via the MIE, and the actual transfer is performed by a companion client application (called the ESI Secure File Transfer Client) that is installed on any machine that can access the file or files to be transferred.  The client machine must also have access to the internet.

Files are transferred using a standard 128-bit 3-DES encryption, over a secure socket layer (https) connection.  If a file transfer is interrupted due to connectivity or other issues, the transfer will resume where it left off (assuming the source file did not change).  If the source file changed, the transfer will begin again at the file's starting point.

By default, files transferred to the MIE via the client are deposited in the Import/Export area, and are visible to MIE Import jobs.
