The following settings are available for defining Application Owners:

Setting

Definition

Description

A general description of the owner/application grouping.  The description should usually identify the application down to the version level (if applicable).  It will be used in the workflow to identify emails being sent and received.

Owner (if individual)

An owner may be either an individual or a list.  Enter the name of the individual, if the owner is an individual.

Owner (if a list of individuals)

An owner may be either an individual or a list.  Enter the name of the contact group, if the owner is a group of individuals.

Matching Criteria

Enter matching criteria in order to narrow the list of known application authorizations.  Anything entered in this section will be used to narrow the selection of Owned Instances when associating instances to the current application owner.  For example, if Oracle is selected from the list of available publishers, then only Oracle instances will be shown when associating Owned Instances.

Note:  Drop-down values in this section will only include MSL titles that have been marked as requiring Application Owners.  You must mark an MSL title as requiring an Application Owner before you can begin to assign Owned Instances.

Owned Instances

Based on the criteria entered in Matching Criteria, currently known instances (authorizations) can be chosen and associated with the owner.  The instances will be included on any spreadsheet that is sent to the owner(s) by the workflow engine.

Workflow

This section defines the workflow to be used to handle sending and receiving the Excel spreadsheet to/from the Application Owner.  The Workflow is generally defined in the MSL entry, but can be overridden with an entry here.

Excel Template

This defines the Excel template that will be used to send/receive information to/from the Application Owner.  The template is defined in the MSL entry, but can be overridden with an entry here.
