Settings

When defining a Trigger, the following settings are available:

Setting

Definition

Trigger Type

Type of trigger to be defined.  The screen will refresh when this selection is changed.

Trigger is currently enabled

Only triggers with this box checked will be active.  This allows you to define a trigger and place it into service later.

Form for trigger

The form that will be used to collect information to forward to the workflow engine.  NOTE - when the trigger type is defined as When condition is met, the form used to define the condition MUST be the same as this form.

Requester email

If the form contains a data element that defines a contact in any way, you can define that data element as the email address you wish to be forwarded to the workflow engine as the address of the requester.

NOTE:  You may specify an MIE user ID, or uNo (user primary key value), or ctNo (contact primary key value), or any field that is itself an email address.  In the case of MIE User ID, uNo, or ctNo, the email address will be determined by the MIE and filled forwarded in place of the value that is actually present in the field specified.

Approver email

If the form contains a data element that defines a contact in any way, you can define that data element as the email address you wish to be forwarded to the workflow engine as the address of the approver.

Forward this email address

You may type in an email address that will be forwarded to the workflow engine as the address of the approver.

NOTE:  This value will only be used if you do not specify anything for Approver Email.

Contents submitted as V1

V1 through V8 - allows you to select various data elements from the form to be submitted to the workflow engine as each of up to 8 variables.  These variables may be referenced in notification emails that the workflow sends, for instance.

Condition that must be met for trigger

For trigger type When condition is met, this defines the condition that will be used.

Trigger will fire this workflow

When the Trigger is activated, it will invoke the workflow defined here.

Fire trigger no more frequently than every

Applies to triggers that are fired when a condition is met.  This setting prevents the trigger from being fired more frequently than the frequency specified.  For conditions that will continue to evaluate to true, this is a very important setting as it will prevent the trigger from continuing to fire over and over again.

Limit frequency

This setting goes with the previous setting in that it sets the units of the maximum frequency on which to fire a conditional trigger.
