Setting up to Monitor Suite Usage

The usage monitor can be set to take action on low utilization of an entire suite, by monitoring usage of individual components of the suite.  When checking for low utilization of the entire suite, the usage of ALL components of the suite must meet the low usage criteria before action will be taken against the suite.  For example, if low utilization is set at 15%, and the Office suite consists of Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, the utilization of Word must be less than 15% AND utilization of Excel must be less than 15% AND utilization of Powerpoint must be less than 15% AND each must have sufficient samples taken within the time window specified before the entire suite will be considered as having met the low utilization criteria.

To set up to check for low utilization on a suite, the following steps must be taken:

1. The suite, such as Office, must be an MSL title.  It must not have any criteria set for watching usage and/or checking for low utilization.

2. Each component of the suite must have its "This title is part of this suite ..." setting (in its MSL record) set to the correct suite.

3. Each component of the suite must have the same criteria set for low usage.  For example, each must have the same workflow set, the same number of samples, the same time window, the same type of utilization, and the same type of workflow set.  This is a very important step to ensure utilization is checked for the suite.
