Restore from change log applicable changes for this field

Changes are restored on a field by field basis.  Changes can be restored from most field types, except large memo or notes fields (the Change Log accepts only 80 characters of change information per change).  Restore is begun by first selecting the field to which you want data restored.

ONLY restore from changes made via this method

When a change is logged to the Change Log, the process, or method, that made the change is also captured.  This setting allows you to narrow your restoration to just changes made by one or more methods (or all methods).  You may select multiple by holding down the CTRL key and clicking on your selections.

ONLY restore from changes made via this user

The user who made the change is also captured in the Change Log.  This setting allows you to further narrow the scope of the restoration to just changes made by one or more selected users.  Select multiple entries by holding down the CTRL key.

ONLY restore from changes made NO more than this many days ago

You can further narrow the scope of your restoration to just recent changes.

ONLY restore where the selected field is CURRENTLY this value

You may only want to restore to records where the current field is blank, for example, as to not overwrite what may otherwise be valid data.  Use this setting to further restrict the restoration.

If you leave this value blank (for free-form text fields) or if you leave it unselected (for drop-downs), this setting will be ignored and the scope of the restoration will not include consideration for what is currently in the target record/field combination.

If you select the special item "*BLANK*" (for drop-downs) or enter the characters *BLANK* (for free-form text), then restoration will only be made to records that currently have a blank value in the target field, for those changes that are otherwise in scope based on the other settings.

If you select or enter any other value, then the target records must have the value selected in them, exactly, for the change to be restored.
