Record Locking

The MIE supports a general record locking scheme.  Record locking will be found on several of the MIE screens across many of the MIE modules.

In general, if a screen on the MIE supports record locking, there will be a drop-down presented for locking the record during edit.

A record may either be locked by the system or by the user who is currently editing the record.  Any user who has access to the record may lock it.  Only system-level administrators may place a system lock on the record.

If a user locks a record, then only that user may edit or delete the record after locking.  All other users who generally would have access to the record will have their access restricted to read-only.

If a system-level administrator places a system lock on the record, then all system-level administrators may edit/delete the record.  All other users who generally would have access to the record will have their access restricted to read-only.
