Questions

Questions are used to solicit approval responses from approvers.  An approval email template may be designed with one or more questions.  An approver must respond in the affirmative to ALL questions for the MIE to interpret the reply as an approval.

If an approval email template is constructed without questions, it is treated by the workflow engine as a simply reply required - a way of causing the workflow to pause and wait for a reply from the target to which the approval email was sent.  When the reply email is received, since there are no questions, it is treated as an automatic approval and will cause the workflow to take the Approved branch.

Note that the workflow engine processes approval emails that do not have questions differently - the difference being that no implicit thread approval actions are performed (such as automatically committing any stored approval SQL.  Approval emails to do have questions that are all answered in the affirmative will cause thread level approval actions to be taken.

Given proper access, questions can be accessed through Workflow Automation.  Choose Workflow from the left menu bar, then Email Questions from the sub-menu.

NOTE:  There are validations in place for the Graphical Workflow designer that will prevent the following reserved tags from being used in questions for an email template:

"FIELD"

"F"

"VALUE"

"V"

"DELIM"

"D"

"NOW"

"TODAY"

"VKEY"

"KEY"

"KEYVALUE"

NOTE:  If the question requires the use of a reserved tag, then it must be entered using the UI.
