The MIE features a self-service Request Portal that allows users to select from a generic request catalog.  Items in the request catalog may be of any nature:  hardware, software, and/or services to be performed.  Each item allows a full questionnaire to be designed in order to collect sufficient information to allow the request to be accurately fulfilled.

The Request Portal integrates with the MIE's Workflow Engine as well as the credit/debit financial transaction system, allowing for automated charging for requests.
