The client can be set to access local databases (databases to which the machine on which the client is running has access) and automatically create a .CSV file to be transferred by querying a local database.

Any file on the transfer schedule may be set to be automatically created by the client by issuing a query to a locally accessible database.

Examples may be to set up automated queries to local Altiris and/or SCCM and/or ERP databases that can be forwarded to the MIE by the Secure File Transfer Client on a timed and automated basis.

To set a transfer up to query a locally accessible database you must follow two steps:

1. Set up a database connection

2. Establish the query that will be used to populate the file that will be transferred either by writing your own SQL query or by selecting from pre-defined connectors (if available).
