Attachments

Many forms in the MIE support attachments.  Attachments can be Microsoft Word documents, .zip files, Excel spreadsheets - virtually any file that you would like to attach to the given record.  The only limit is that the file cannot be larger than 5 megabytes.

Forms that support attachments will have an Attachments area when you add or edit a record.  In the Attachments area will be listed any existing attachments, as well as a button to Add Attachment and, if any of the attachments were added by you, a button to Remove Attachment(s).  The MIE does not impose a limit to the number of attachments to any given record.

There are several rules regarding attachments:

1.  Any user who has access to the record can add / remove attachments.

2.  Only the user who added the attachment may remove it.

3.  All users who can edit the record can also view/download the attachments.

4.  The MIE automatically adds a version number to any attachment added that has a file name that duplicates an already attached file for that record.  This lets you upload and store different versions of the same document, for instance, without renaming the document.  The MIE will automatically keep track of various versions and will label the versions for you on the screen.
