User Roles

The MIE allows administrators to create one or more roles to which users can be assigned.  

Given sufficient access, user roles are managed from the Roles menu option that is on the fly-out menu associated with the Logins left menu option.

Any number of roles may be defined.  For each role defined, any number of users may be assigned and any number of available menu options may be assigned.

Any user assigned to a role will only be presented the menu options that were also assigned to the role.

Note that roles are specific to a given option (such as Workflow Automation or Asset Management).  If a user is assigned a role that was defined under Workflow Automation, then that role governs the menu options that will be available when working within Workflow Automation.  However, if that same user has not been assigned to any roles in Asset Management, that user will see all available menu options (for the user's access level), and will not be further restricted.

Also note that roles are additive.  Assigning a user to two or more roles will result in the user being able to see the full collection of menu options made available through all the roles to which the user has been assigned.
