Setting up an Import Job

An Import, whether on demand or timed, is defined as a job.  The job defines important parameters that the MIE uses during the Import function, and can be used to perform the same import against new files on a recurring basis.

You must have administrative access in order to set up an Import job.

To define a job, start by clicking IMPORT/EXPORT from the left menu of Home page of the current module. IMPORT/EXPORT generally requires local administrative access, so you may or may not have the menu item. IMPORT/EXPORT is available on most modules.  If you have local administrative access but do not see IMPORT/EXPORT as a Home page menu item, then switch modules and check there.

 

Warning:  Once an import job has been processed to the database, that import job CAN NOT be undone.  It is imperative that great caution be taken prior to submitting a data file for import to ensure that the data are proper and accurate.
