eTelligent Cloud Portal (eCP)

eCP Summary

The eCP provides a standardized mechanism to setup connections to vendor APIs in the cloud.  It is designed to provide a consistent method for retrieving and sending information using cloud based portals.  The vendor portals typically provide warranty, subscription, user, and usage information for their products.  Additionally, vendor APIs can provide administrative functions such as creating users, adding/changing/deleting subscriptions, and managing entitlements.

The eCP main processing engine provides a consistent interface that manages the interaction with the different vendors.  eCP users will work with individual DataPipes.  A DataPipe is essentially any single connection that is setup to a vendors API.

General Setup and Usage

This section describes the general options for setting up a DataPipe.  The specific parameters required for each individual DataPipe are described in vendor sections below.

Master data:  The development team sets up technical settings in underlying tables and presents the user choices in drop down boxes.  These include the vendors that are currently supported, the end points (specific reports or actions) that are available, and the options for formatting the results.

eCP Customer DataPipes:  This form is for selecting the vendor(s) the user is connecting to and entering in the customer credentials for accessing the vendors portal.

eCP DataPipe Tasks:  This form is for setting up the specific end point details.

Timed Ops:  Like other jobs in the MIE, eCP tasks can be scheduled to run a on timed basis.

Manual Job:  One time runs of an eCP tasks can be kicked off as a manual job.

Subsequent setup may be required to consume the data.  This could include import job(s), recognition training, workflows, DCLA rules, exports, and Data Insights reporting.
