The License Analyzer is a rules-based engine that can handle very complex licensing scenarios – automatically.
We have created all of the rules necessary to automate Microsoft’s SQL Server licensing guides, out of the box, for the following SQL Server titles:
- SQL Server 2005, all editions.
- SQL Server 2008, all editions.
- SQL Server 2008 R2, all editions.
- SQL Server 2012, all editions.
Although our Analyzer comes with the rules to support Microsoft’s SQL Server Licensing guides already developed and ready to go, the Analyzer is capable of managing practically any licensing scenario,
no matter the complexity. For example it has been applied successfully in IBM environments.

A Catch Point is any place in the life cycle of an asset where important ITAM information can be "caught". Examples are: Purchasing, Receiving, Service Desk, IMAC, Decommissioning and Disposal.
A Catch Point screen is a means to allow those that perform the various Catch Point activities to electronically capture the important ITAM data – efficiently, and as close to the activity as possible.
Typically, non-ITAM resources are asked to capture the ITAM data, and often with no well-defined means, consequently resorting to using spreadsheets or paper. Alternatively, they are given a login to the ITAM repository tool, required to navigate several menu options, look up the asset(s) impacted, navigate some more, enter the changed data, and save their changes. The process can be error-prone and take too long to execute, this then increases the risk and consequences of poor accuracy.
This session looks at how well designed Catch Point screens can negate most of the risk associated with using non-ITAM resources for ITAM data capture.
